GNWTS July 2025

Updated: Jul 15, 2025

Laura, Carl, Matt, Rebecca and of course Ethan went along to The Great North West Truck Show the weekend. Ethan has been quite a few times just as a day trip but this time we took our charity pop up shop.

The weather as always wasn't on our side, this time we were all moaning it was way too hot. The sun was blazing down on us all day and it reached temps of around 30 degrees.

Our new gazebo
Our new gazebo

Luckily for us we had our brand new fancy gazebo which we very kindly received a grant for the purchase, the company who gave us the money would however like to remain anonymous but a huge thank you to them. This was a huge help as it not only looked very professional but protected the stock and also us from what could of been very severe sun burn.

The show had a huge turnout and it looked like it was going to be a really successful day. The crowd trickled in all day but footfall was a lot lighter than expected. The prospect of the extreme heat and the thought of walking round with hot and tired kids probably put a few off, I know it would us which is a real shame. Last year it just rained. The drivers all worked as hard as they possibly could but the polish was drying too quick and unfortunately causing more steaks than shine. The trucks still looked amazing though

All in all we had a really good day, we got to meet some lovely people, caught up with a few friends and even met a little celebrity, deaftruckerbecca off TikTok (myself and Carl stood for ages both thinking "I know this person but don't know where from" Thank you to Jimmy aka The vaping Trucker for helping us out! We didn't look silly at all!!!

Carl, Ethan and I left the show around 8pm just as the sun started to set and the air started to cool off a little. Matt and Rebecca along with the drivers all ventured out for the after party. We have been informed a brilliant night was had by all and a fantastic weekend. Maybe next year we might stay over.

Some very sad news though, we found out Barry Proctor has sold his amazing Scania T-Cab. For those that remember in the early days when Ethan was poorly he got to go and see it at the yard and even he was even featured in Marty Moans Slip the Clutch video with it, check it out here, https://youtu.be/VZ-8aW4-Sls?feature=shared. On the plus side it has gone back to one of it's original owners at Tyretracks - Eccleshall LTD. Hopefully we will see it at some shows next year. If anyone is interested the Kenwood is also up for sale, Ethan did ask if we could buy it him for Xmas, erm...
